HID – Seal Tag edTamper

The Seal Tag edTamper by HID Global is a cutting-edge solution designed to detect tampering without requiring a direct line of sight. This tamper-evident passive contactless Trusted Tag NFC RAIN® RFID UHF transponder offers unparalleled security features, making it an ideal choice for applications where the integrity of sealed items is paramount.
With the NFC label utilizing HID Trusted Tag technology, the Seal Tag edTamper ensures the protection of container contents, such as bottles or boxes, by indicating any unauthorized opening through a secure authentication message provided upon each NFC tap. Unlike traditional tamper-evident tags that rely on visual inspection or stop working when tampered with, the edTamper excels in providing a digital notification if the seal is compromised. This feature allows for swift scanning of large quantities of sealed items, making it particularly useful for monitoring sensitive and highly secure items like aircraft life vests or weapon/equipment racks that require periodic safety and security checks.
The Seal Tag edTamper is user-friendly, easily affixed by closing the robust wire loop through an opening, akin to securing a padlock. Once sealed, the tag’s memory bit indicates the status, which can be detected using standard RAIN RFID readers. The optimized pull strength of the loop ensures that it can be broken by a human when necessary, without accidental opening. This balance of security and accessibility makes the Seal Tag edTamper a versatile solution for various industries.
Available in two form factors, the Seal Tag edTamper meets ATA Spec 2000 and other related standards, allowing its usage on aircraft and ensuring flame resistance (self-extinguishing). The smaller form factor is suitable for applications like airline life vest status checks, while the larger one is designed for tagging weapons and similar objects. Additionally, customization options are available, including personalized encoding, laser engraved logos, Bar-/QR-codes, or text, to meet specific needs.
